Alike has three audiences for your data: you, the people in your workspace, and everyone else. People outside your workspace never see your data.

The default for builders is to share

When you finish Builder setup and click Continue, Alike applies the High Sharing preset. You can change it at any time. See Choose a sharing level. With High Sharing, everyone in your workspace can see your agents and session summaries, your decisions, your documents, your projects, and your calendar events. Some items, such as tasks and events, are shared even when no preset applies.

What each audience sees

Tasks and decisions that Alike finds in your sessions are shared like any other task or decision. This is the main way that the content of your sessions reaches your teammates.

Sharing presets

A preset sets the audience for each type of item. You choose it in the web app, in Settings → Privacy. Two terms in this table:
  • Team: the people in your team group. If you have no team group, “team” means only you.
  • Trusted circle: the people that you choose. If you did not choose anyone, it means only you.
Each type of item has a sharing limit: the most of it that can ever be shared. A preset or a share can show less than the limit, never more.

Workspace admins and privacy groups

Your trusted circle and your team are privacy groups. A person who joins a group sees everything that you share with that group. Workspace owners and admins can change the members of every privacy group, including your trusted circle. If you share an item with a group, anyone that an admin adds to the group can see it.

What Alike does not share

  • Alike never shares your raw transcripts, prompts, replies, or tool calls with other users.
  • Alike never shows your data to people outside your workspace.
  • A colleague’s agent sees only what that colleague could see in the web app. The agent acts as its user, with the same access.

Items that Alike found versus items that a person confirmed

Alike marks each item that it found by itself as not confirmed, until a person confirms it. Your agent and your teammates’ agents see both kinds. In the context that Alike gives an agent, confirmed items carry the mark (confirmed).
