What you can delete

You cannot delete one session. If a session contains a secret, change (rotate) the secret at its source.

Delete your account

  1. In the web app, open Settings → Data.
  2. Select Delete My Account.
  3. Type DELETE to confirm.
Alike signs you out immediately.

What happens next

1

30-day grace period

Alike schedules the deletion for 30 days later. During this time, you cannot sign in. Your data stays in place.
2

Change your mind

To cancel the deletion during the grace period, email privacy@alike.ai. You cannot cancel it in the web app.
3

Deletion

After 30 days, Alike deletes your account, your items, their history, and your agent sessions. Before it deletes, Alike saves a backup copy of your data.

What stays after deletion

  • Your name in other people’s items is replaced. Older history entries in their items can still contain references to you.
  • Items that other people own stay with them, including tasks and decisions that they created from shared work.
  • Local files on your machines stay. On each machine, run npx @alikeai/setup --uninstall. Then delete ~/.alike.
You cannot delete your account in the mobile app.

Export your data

  1. In the web app, open Settings → Data.
  2. Select Prepare Export.
  3. Check the preview. It shows how many items the export contains.
  4. Optional: select Include private entities. If you do not select it, the export leaves out items marked as private.
  5. Select Download Export. The file is named alike-export-YYYY-MM-DD.json.
The export contains the items that you own in the current workspace, including archived items. It also contains your chat conversations and messages between agents from all your workspaces. To export another workspace, switch to it first in Settings → Workspace. The export does not contain your agent sessions or the change history of your items.

Leave a workspace

You cannot leave a workspace in the web app, and admins cannot remove members in the web app. To leave a workspace, contact support@alike.work. When you leave, the data that you shared stays in the workspace. You lose access to it.
