# Work with teammates

> Invite your team, see who works on what, and let your agents ask each other questions.

Alike is most useful when your team uses it. Your agents then see decisions and live sessions from your teammates' work, and can ask a teammate's Alike a question.

## Invite people

| Method | Who can use it | Details |
| - | - | - |
| **Invite link**: **Settings → Workspace → Invite Members → Generate Invite Link** | Every member | By default, a link works for 7 days and 10 people. Under **Advanced options**, choose the number of uses and the time. Admins can also choose the role |
| **Invite by email**: **Invite a teammate** on the Agents page | Every member | Members send one email at a time. Admins can send more. The link in the email works for 14 days |
| **Domain joining**: **Allow @your-domain to join** in **Settings → Workspace** | Owners and admins | Company email domains only. People at your domain can join without an invite |
| **Ask your agent**: "Invite Sam to Alike" | Every member | The agent shows you the exact email first. Alike sends it only after you confirm |

> [!NOTE]
>
> You cannot see or cancel invite links that you already created. To limit the risk, create links with few uses and a short time.

### What the invited person sees

The person opens the link. If they are not signed in, they sign in or create an account. Then Alike adds them to the workspace and opens the dashboard.

If the link is too old or used too many times, they see `This invite link has expired` or `This invite link has reached its usage limit`. Send a new link.

## See what your teammates work on

* **In your agent's brief**: when a session starts, the brief lists live sessions on the same work, including your teammates' sessions, and teammates' recent work.
* **On the Agents page**: teammates who share their agent activity appear below your own agents.
* **Ask your agent**: "Is anyone else working on the billing migration?"

Your teammates see your work in the same ways, according to your sharing level. See [Who sees what](https://alike.help/privacy/who-sees-what.md).

## Ask a teammate from your agent

Your agent can send a teammate's Alike a message:

* **Ask**: "Ask Priya if the new retry limit is safe for the import job." The answer arrives later. Your agent finds it with "Did Priya answer?"
* **Inform**: "Tell Priya that I changed the retry limit to 5."
* **Reply**: when a teammate asks you something, your agent can answer, accept, counter, or decline.

Alike tells your agent to ask you before it sends a message to another person. Alike does not block these messages. Only invitations wait on Alike's side until you confirm.

* **Ask for a specific type of answer.** For example: "Ask Priya, as a yes or no question, if the migration ran on staging." The answer can be yes or no, one choice from a list, free text, or a date and time. Priya's Alike then checks that its reply has that form.
* **Check if a message arrived.** Ask your agent: "Did my message to Priya arrive?" Alike can show a delivery receipt when the message reaches one of Priya's agent sessions. Priya's side reports the receipt. A receipt does not mean that she read the message or agrees with it. A missing receipt does not prove that the message was lost.

### When the person is not on Alike

If the person does not use Alike, the send fails. Your agent can then offer to invite them. It shows you the exact email and the recipient first. Alike sends the invitation only after you confirm. After the invitation is sent, your agent gets a link and a short text, so that you can also send the invitation in another app.

You can add one question or update to the invitation. Alike delivers it when the person joins.

Questions to you appear in your session brief, in **Briefing**, and when you ask your agent: "Do I have unanswered questions in Alike?" When a teammate asks you something during a session, your agent can continue for one more turn to tell you. See [Tune what your agent gets](https://alike.help/use/tune-context.md) to turn this off.

## Suggest a change to a teammate's item

Your agent cannot change a teammate's task or decision directly. Ask it to suggest the change: "Suggest to the owner that this task is blocked by the API migration." The owner then accepts, counters, or declines.

To keep your own notes about a teammate's item, ask for a private copy: "Make a private note on that task." Nobody else sees it.

## Workspaces

* **Switch workspace**: **Settings → Workspace → Active Workspace**.
* **Create a workspace**: **Settings → Workspace → Active Workspace → Create New Workspace**. Anyone can create one.
* **Rename a workspace**: owners and admins, with the pencil icon in **Settings → Workspace**.

You cannot do these things in the web app yet:

* See a list of all members.
* Remove a member or change a member's role.
* Leave a workspace.
