# Connect your tools

> Connect GitHub, Linear, Slack, and your other tools, so that work outside the terminal reaches your agents.

Many decisions happen outside the terminal: in a pull request review, a Linear issue, a Slack thread, or a meeting. When you connect these tools, Alike adds their content to your world model. Your agents can then find it, and later sessions on the same work get it.

## Connect a tool

1. In the web app, open **Settings → Integrations**.
2. Find the tool in the list. Use the search box or the category filters.
3. Select **Connect**, and sign in to the tool.

You can also connect tools on the **Connect your agents** page, after you pair a machine. See [Sign up](https://alike.help/get-started/sign-up.md#connect-your-agents).

## Available tools

| Tool | What Alike gets |
| - | - |
| **Google Workspace**, **Microsoft 365** | Email, calendar, and contacts |
| **Slack** | Messages from your Slack workspaces |
| **Linear** | Issues, as tasks that stay up to date |
| **GitHub** | Repositories, pull requests, and reviews, as work items |
| **Granola** | Meeting notes and transcripts |
| **Microsoft Teams** | Chat messages |
| **Attio** | People, companies, and deals |
| **HubSpot** | Contacts, companies, and deals |
| **Salesforce** | Accounts, contacts, and opportunities |

Jira and Asana show **Soon**. You cannot connect them yet.

> [!NOTE]
>
> The Google and Microsoft buttons connect your email and calendar. They are not sign-in methods. See [Sign up](https://alike.help/get-started/sign-up.md).

## Fix a connection

Each connected tool shows its status and a button:

| Button | What to do |
| - | - |
| **Reconnect** | The tool needs you to sign in again. Select the button and sign in |
| **Retry** | The sync failed or stopped. Select the button to start it again |
| **Manage** | Open the details of the connection |

To remove a connection, select **Manage**, then **Disconnect account**.

## How your agent uses your tools

* **Through the work item.** Your agent can link a session to a GitHub pull request or a Linear issue. It then uses the task that Alike already made from it. The brief then includes the work that is linked to it. See [Alike in your agent](https://alike.help/use/in-your-agent.md).
* **Through search.** Your agent can search the content of your tools, next to your past sessions. For example: "Find the PR review where we discussed pagination limits."

To search one type of source, name it in your request. The search types are:

| Search type | Contents |
| - | - |
| `agent_session` | Your past coding-agent sessions |
| `github_issue` | GitHub issues, pull requests, and review discussions |
| `linear_issue` | Linear issues |
| `message` | Slack and Microsoft Teams messages |
| `email` | Email |
| `transcript` | Meeting transcripts |
| `event` | Calendar events |
| `contact` | Contacts |
| `crm_record` | CRM records |

## Who sees your tools' content

Search covers only your own sources. Your teammates cannot search your email or your messages. Tasks, decisions, and other items that Alike makes from your sources follow your sharing level, as all your items do. See [Who sees what](https://alike.help/privacy/who-sees-what.md).

## Add a reference document

To add a spec, a design note, or a runbook, open **Settings → Import Context**. Paste the text, or load a `.md` or `.txt` file. Alike turns the document into items in your world model.
