# Known limitations

> What Alike cannot do yet, so that you can plan around it.

This page lists the gaps that builders ask about most. Each entry says what to do instead.

| The installer does not run on Windows | Use macOS or Linux. Connect MCP clients by hand on Windows |
| The installer does not support HTTP proxies | Pair from a network without a proxy |
| Your transcript-capture choice does not stop the live hooks | Remove Alike from agents that must send nothing |
| You cannot pause capture for one repository or one session | Use an agent without Alike for that work |
| Alike does not remove secrets from stored sessions | Keep secrets out of sessions. Rotate a secret that reaches a session |
| You cannot delete one session or one item | Hide items with archive or dismiss. Delete your account to remove everything |
| You cannot remove a paired machine in the web app | Run `--uninstall` on the machine. Contact support if you cannot reach it |
| **Disconnect** on an MCP client in **Settings → AI Agents** signs you out of the browser. It does not disconnect one client | Remove the `alike` server from the client's settings |
| You cannot hide one session and share the others | Stop sharing all agent activity, or choose Low Sharing |
| There is no list of workspace members, and no way to remove a member, change a role, or leave a workspace | Contact support |
| You cannot see or cancel invite links | Create links with few uses and a short time |
| The export does not contain agent sessions | None yet |
| Injection settings have no page in the web app | Ask your agent to change them |
| Windsurf, Zed, and Continue get no automatic context | Their agents can still call Alike's MCP tools |
